While not part of Paul's travels, our ship stopped in Santorini, Greece today as we make our way to Ephesus in Turkey. The city is built on a hill that you can walk or take a donkey or ride the funicular (basically a gondola) to ascend. Oia Village is on one end of the island which is where numerous movies featuring Greece have been filmed, including Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I actually began the day travelling by a Greek sailboat to a smaller island which is home to the active volcano that formed these islands.
The first few photos are from the volcano. Next you will see some of Oia village including their famous windmill and blue domed churches. Finally their are pictures of descending the hill from Santorini and the beautiful sunset we witnessed.
